Where is God when I'm struggling? How can I know God personally? How can I live my faith in my daily life? If these are questions you're asking, we invite you to spend a weekend connecting with God and other young adults from across the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana!
Arise is a retreat that focuses on the core Gospel message at the heart of our Catholic faith. We will explore the relationship that Jesus wants to have with us and how his death and resurrection impact us today.
The weekend will include talks from local speakers, time for personal prayer, small group discussions, Mass, opportunities for Reconciliation, Eucharistic Adoration, and free time.
This year's retreat will be at St. Joseph Retreat & Conference Center in Tipton, IN. The retreat will begin at 7:00 PM ET on Friday, September 27 and will conclude at 12:00 PM ET on Sunday, September 29. Any young adults ages 18-39 are welcome to attend. You are welcome to attend even if you live outside the diocese or are not Catholic.

Libbie Steiner Gonzalez
Libbie Steiner Gonzalez is a pastoral minister who loves accompanying people of all ages along their journeys of faith. She currently serves as Pastoral Associate at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist, working in the area of adult faith formation. She was raised in Portland, Oregon in a family with both Catholic and Jewish heritage. She moved to Boston to study Theology and Spanish at Boston College. Libbie went on to pursue her Master of Arts in Theology at the University of Notre Dame through the Echo Program. Having served the Church in the areas of parish ministry, higher education, and high school campus ministry, she enjoys bringing the fruits of those different settings to her work at Holy Spirit. In her free time, she enjoys being outside, visiting museums, and spending time with loved ones. Libbie lives in Indianapolis with her husband Facundo.

Fr. Kyle Neterer
Fr. Neterer has been a priest for eight years and is currently serving in Kokomo. He grew up attending Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Carmel High School, and then went off to seminary. He enjoys bike riding on the Nickle Plate trail and reading a good book. His favorite scripture verse is Luke 5:11: “And when they brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followed Him.”

Tom Ponchak
Tom Ponchak is a passionate disciple of Jesus. He studied theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville and Asbury Theological Seminary. After several years in Catholic ministry, Tom and his wife, Lisa, left the Catholic Church and joined the Association of Vineyard Churches, a non-denominational, evangelical faith community. He was the founding pastor of Matthew’s House Vineyard Church in central Florida. A longing for the Eucharist and sacraments led them back into full communion with the Catholic Church in 2007. Tom is currently the Director of the Encounter School of Ministry - Indianapolis Campus, a ministry that seeks to teach, equip, and activate adult disciples of Jesus to share the love of the Father through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. He and his wife live in Westfield and have six children and one son-in-law.
