Patron Saints of the National Eucharistic Revival

El Beato Carlo Acutis (1996-2006) fue un adolescente italiano que utilizó la tecnología para difundir la devoción a la Eucaristía al crear un sitio web que catalogaba los milagros eucarísticos de todo el mundo. Murió a los quince años de leucemia, ofreciendo sus sufrimientos por la Iglesia y por el Papa. Carlo colocó el sacramento de la Eucaristía en el centro de su propia vida, y lo llamó “Mi camino al cielo”. Después de recibir su Primera Comunión a la edad de siete años, Carlo no faltaba a misa diaria ni al rezo del rosario. Siempre intentaría practicar la devoción eucarística y estaba convencido de que “al estar ante el Cristo Eucarístico, nos volvemos santos”.

San Manuel González García (1877-1940), bishop of Malaga and Palencia, was the founder of the Eucharistic Reparative Union and of the religious congregation of Eucharistic Missionaries of Nazareth. In 1902 he was sent to Palomares del Río to preach. Upon arrival, he found the church very neglected, dirty and abandoned. He tells us: "I went straight to the tabernacle... There on my knees... my faith saw a Jesus so quiet, so patient, so good, who looked at me... who told me a lot and asked me for more, a look in the one that reflected everything sad in the Gospel... The gaze of Jesus Christ in those tabernacles is a gaze that pierces the soul and is never forgotten. It became for me a starting point to see, understand and feel all my priestly ministry."
